ISO exam revision for UK candidates, priced in pounds
Mindset Prep is a revision app for five ISO exams across ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO 31000. This page covers prices in pounds, PECB's online exam from the UK, and where CQI and IRCA courses fit.
Mindset Prep is independent of PECB and is not endorsed by it.

Where the PECB route sits in the UK
In the UK, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor training includes these two routes.
A CQI and IRCA certified course, usually five days and run by several UK certification and training bodies, meets the training requirement for applying to IRCA; registering as an IRCA auditor is a separate application.
A PECB course comes from one of PECB's authorised training partners, live online, in a classroom or as eLearning, and is followed by PECB's own exam.
Both routes certify a person, not an organisation: an organisation's ISO/IEC 27001 certificate comes from an audit by a certification body.
UKAS, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, accredits certification bodies, not training courses. PECB holds UKAS accreditation under ISO/IEC 17024 (certification of persons), and four of the credentials on this page are in its scope: ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer, and ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer (UKAS schedule 21923 (opens in a new tab)). Neither UKAS nor PECB endorses Mindset Prep.
Sitting a PECB exam from the UK
UK candidates sit the same PECB exam, under the same rules, as everyone else.
- The online exam runs in the PECB Exams app on a Windows PC or Mac, wherever you choose, while a remote PECB invigilator watches through your webcam.
- You book your own session in myPECB; sessions run across time zones.
- You can reschedule twice; a third change costs the regular exam fee, and a booking cannot be moved in the final 48 hours.
- Fail the first attempt and PECB requires a 15-day wait before the next.
- A PECB partner's course covers your first exam attempt, a second exam attempt, the certification application fee and the first year of PECB's annual maintenance fee, used within 12 months of your course.
- Without a course, booking with PECB directly costs US$1,000 a sitting for a Lead exam, plus US$500 to apply for the certificate.
- Phones, tablets and AI tools are banned in the session, and disclosing exam content breaks PECB's Code of Ethics (opens in a new tab); Mindset Prep is for revising beforehand.
From PECB's exam rules (opens in a new tab), Online Exam Policy (opens in a new tab) and candidate handbooks, read 25 October 2026; PECB can change them, so check before you book.
Pick your exam
Since October 2026, PECB has offered free practice exams in myPECB, under PECB Start (opens in a new tab), with no card needed. Mindset Prep is an extra bank of original questions to practise with alongside them, and its explanations cite the clause behind each answer wherever there is one.

- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer
- ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor
